They are also a place to make new friends, socialize, meet neighbors and spruce up a neighborhood. Sloan’s lake stands out from all the other parks around the Denver Metro Area with the occasional entertainment of water skiers enjoying the lake. Sloan’s Lake is the biggest lake in Denver, and at 177 acres, this is the city’s second-largest park. Boasting two playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, boating, and picnic areas. It’s one of the best parks for sunsets with a view of the Rocky Mountains and Downtown Denver's skyline. Having the option to loop the 2.6-mile trail for evening walks, runs, or bike rides. You will also see Paddleboarding, kayaks, and canoes circling the lake to catch the morning sunrise above the city or the sunsets behind the mountains. This location is new to lakeside restaurants, and rooftop breweries. Odell brewing offers a view of the Mountains, and Sloans Lake, and adjacent you will find Joy Ride Brewery. A block from the lake during the spring and summer Denver Bazaar is filled with food trucks and eloquent pop-up shops where you can listen to live music and dance the night away. Sloan’s Lake is diverse with a wide range of housing styles including 1920’s brick bungalows, to new post-modern architecture. This area has brand new construction adding single-family homes, apartment buildings, duplexes, and modern townhomes. You will see old homes being restored, and new row homes being built. Washington Park Denver
Washington Park is a largely residential desirable neighborhood space covering 165 acres of grassy meadows full of summer activity. Begin your day by jogging or cycling around the winding trails of Washington Park looking over the lush flower gardens, and lakes. An elegant boathouse on the lake offers water activities with views of the park and the surrounding homes. If you are looking to join a sports league, you have found the right park. Wash Park is filled with back-to-back volleyball matches from morning until dusk covering the laws on summer weekends, you also have the option to layout your yoga mat to join the community for a nice yoga flow. Along with grass activities, Wash Park contains tennis and basketball courts. This communal location is perfect to take a break from the busy downtown, whether that is to shop the desirable boutiques on the outskirts of the park, attend an art or music festival or come and relax. Wash Park is a perfect place to meet people both during the summer and winter months. In the winter months, the park is great for sledding, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing.
